Intensive Moscow's Attacks Cut Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and dealt with problems to drinking water, per reports from city officials.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has increased attacks on power infrastructure over the past few days, while the country's government has requested "concrete actions" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but decisive action - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in supplying defensive weapons and enforcing penalties," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and more than 30 missiles struck energy facilities, characterizing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were laboring to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes struck power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from local officials.

Area administrators said the urban area experienced intense attacks during nighttime hours. A minor was killed and several individuals were injured.

The strikes come after nights of air raids in the area, parts of which are occupied by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to identify.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the national power system, with attacks already affecting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and authorities were preparing for more assaults.
